Chow Call!
How we feed our precious pups is just as important as how we feed ourselves. They require proteins and nutrients for long and healthy lives! Here are a few good eating habits to help your Great Dane!
Pups should be on Puppy specific dry food and eat three times a day until about 1 years old
Large breed dogs should not have to strain to eat. We have modified everyday furniture to be tall standing feeders that are made for their height
Larger breed dogs are sensitive to stomach conditions, we recommend waiting until 30 minutes after meal time until you let them outside to potty and play
What we feed our Danes
BREAKFAST
Dry food mixed with Scrambled Eggs, Mixed Peppers, and Carrots
Dry food for puppies less than one years old and pregnant moms in last few weeks of pregnancy. * we start adding puppy food to moms regular food in the last month for added nutrients.
DINNER
Dry food mixed with the GD Ranch Homemade wet food. We switched to making our own dog food because we found it more affordable and definitely healthier. Our ingredients include: Beef Broth, Brown Rice, Liver, Gizzards, Spinach, Carrots, Yams, Eggs, and Pumpkin Puree'. there are a lot of healthy recipes online for dogs these days, this one we have found not only keeps them muscular and shiny, but also has healing powers when dogs are sick.
